Wilf Perry was head gardener at Hestercombe House, near Taunton in Somerset, from 1971 to 1983. Working with landscape architects from Somerset County Council, he and gardener Jim Stagg were responsible for the restoration of the Gertrude Jekyll planting of the Formal Garden at Hestercombe between 1973 and 1978.
Prior to working at Hestercombe, Mr Perry worked in agriculture.
