Richard Hollins Murray was a Manchester businessman who bought the Herefordshire estate of Dinmore Manor in 1927. He made major additions to the house and laid out a significant garden, including a rock garden. His work included the invention of the reflecting lens that subsequently became 'cat's eyes' used on roads.
