Martin Hope Sutton
Martin Hope Sutton, seed merchant, was born on the 14th March 1815 in Reading. His early career focused on providing suburban and country gardens with horticultural seeds, although he later advertised vegetables and ornamental plants. By the 1850s Sutton gave advice for the Royal gardens at Windsor and also provided guidance on the crops at the home farm there. He died on the 4th October 1901.
