James Kidd was known to have been at Cortachy Castle around 1861 to 1871.
In 1871 he was recorded as being Head Gardener with 11 staff under him.
There are also references to a James Kidd being gardener at Rossie Priory in the 1830s - it is unclear whether this is the same person or father and son.
