Ian Gordon Lindsay

Ian Gordon Lindsay was an architect, writer and editor. He studied architecture at Cambridge, where he wrote his first book The Cathedrals of Scotland, published in 1926. He worked Edinburgh in 1931, specialising in conservation and restoration.

He was chief investigator of historic buildings and a member of the Ancient Monuments Board and other bodies linked to Scottish heritage.
