Ebenezer James Macrae

Ebenezer James MacRae was born on 18 January 1881. He worked in the Edinburgh City Architect's Department and became City Architect himself in July 1925. He was a pioneer of conservation, restoring churches and a number of buildings in Edinburgh's Old Town.

Macrae retired in July 1946, and died on 15 January 1951.
