Alexander Hennell was an architect and landscape designer who won the competition to create Alexander Park, Manchester. This was the first public park that featured both recreational/sports facilities and ornamental gardens.
He lived in Sydenham, South London for many years and was the architect for a number of municipal buildings in the area.
