Garden History Society in Scotland

Garden History Society in Scotland

In Scotland, The Garden History Society is not a statutory consultee in relation to planning proposals which may affect gardens and designed landscapes. Where such sites are included in An Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland, i.e. the Nationally important sites, Historic Scotland must be consulted. However the Society offers expert independent advice on Inventory, and non-Inventory (Regionally and Locally significant) sites when requested and has built up a good working relationship with planning authorities.
