Mr William Sibbald

William Sibbald was a mason from Inverness in the late-18th century. Sibbald later became an architect and builder in Edinburgh. From 1790 to 1809, Sibbald was the Superintendent of Public Works in Edinburgh. Sibbald also prepared (with Robert Reid) the plan for the New Town extension in 1802, and laid out most of the streets.
