Charles Harriot Smith

Mr Charles Harriot Smith was a builder, active in the early-19th century, noted especially for designs of hot houses. Smith was a prosperous architect and stone mason. He carved the capital of Nelson's column in Trafalgar Square, London in 1850. Smith also carved ornamental stone at the Royal Exchange, the National Gallery, Dorchester and Bridgewater houses.
