Brief Description

Cragside Pinetum is located south west of the house. It has a collection of coniferous trees especially from North America. The floor of the pinetum has recently been taken back to grass allowing for the planting of bulbs and perennials.

History

The pinetum was created in the late-19th century. By the end of the 19th century seven million trees and shrubs had been planted. Storms caused tree loss in 1998 and 2001.
