Daeth teithiau o gwmpas gogledd Cymru yn ffasiynol yn ystod ail hanner y 18fed ganrif. Dechreuodd awduron ac artistiaid werthfawrogi mynyddoedd, rhaeadrau ac adfeilion Eryri, yn ogystal â’r ffyrdd tyrpeg a oedd newydd eu hadeiladu a’r rhwydwaith o westai. Rhyddhaodd cyhoeddwyr liaws o deithlyfrau a disgrifiadau teithwyr.

Tours of North Wales became fashionable during the second half of the 18th century. Writers and artists started to appreciate the mountains, waterfalls and ruins of Snowdonia, as well as the newly built turnpike roads and the network of hotels. Publishers issued a multitude of guidebooks and travellers’ accounts.

If you would like to book a seat in Lampeter, or you would like to know more, please email specialcollections@uwtsd.ac.uk. Please inform us if you have difficulties with mobility.
