The Designation Yearbook 2013-14, whichshowcases some of the many sites that have been added to the National Heritage List for England over the past year has just been published.
Designation continues to be a high profile area of English Heritage’s work and assets continue to be revealed which clearly deserve to be designated. This year’s additions include a Grade II* addition to the Register of Parks and Gardens in the form of Compton Cemetery in Surrey, an innovative and carefully designed funerary landscape. Also included are Kirklees Park in West Yorkshire (registered at Grade II), an amendment to the List entry for the landscape at Marlborough College in Wiltshire, and the upgrade of the Capability Brown landscape at Sherborne Castle to Grade I.
