Do you know of an overgrown historic garden? If so, you might be able to contribute to a photographic project being carried out by photographer, Rachel Warne and writer, Noel Kingsbury. The project is a conceptual and unconventional study of gardens that have a magnificent past and were leading gardens of their time, but now have been left to Mother Nature by unforeseen circumstances. Rachel and Noel hope to raise the profile and spread awareness of these gardens and re-introduce these forgotten gems of our culture and heritage The project has been ongoing for two winters thus far and will hopefully conclude with an exhibition.
So far, the following gardens have been included in the project:
Pentille Castle kitchen garden
Habspen house water garden and bothy
Myddelton House kitchen garden before the lottery restoration
Villar D'Allen private garden in Porto, Portugal
