The Garden History Society: 4th Graduate Symposium
University of Cardiff, Friday 25 July 2014
The GHS invites new scholars in the field to submit a 200 word proposal for a paper on a subject as yet unpublished. Scholars in all disciplines are encouraged to submit, and any subject relating to Garden History will be considered — from detailed explorations of little known gardens to relevant aspects of botany, design, water engineering, ecology, archaeology, social history, horticulture, architecture or sculpture.
Symposium papers must be no longer than 20 minutes (approximately 2,000–2,500 words).
Applicants must include their institutional affiliation, the academic programme of study and the award outcome — or, alternatively, their status as independent researcher and graduate qualification/institution.
Applicants must submit to: enquiries@gardenhistorysociety.org by Monday 5 May 2014
