In a press release on 2 September 2016, Historic England announced their important contributions to the Capability Brown Festival. These include:
- Adding two Capability Brown landscapes to the National Heritage List for England (The List) – Stoke Place in Buckinghamshire and Peper Harow Park in Surrey
- Re-listing seven other sites, including the landscape designer’s home, to celebrate the designer’s national importance
- A bird’s-eye view of Capability Brown sites revealed as a new aerial photography map is launched
- Historic England’s crowd-funded book on Capability Brown to be published this Autumn
