210 acres of parkland and woodland to be available to the public in Bedfordshire
With the help of a government grant of £573,000, private sector funding, and donations, the Central Bedfordshire Council and Greensand Trust have formed a partnership to purchase Rushmere Park. The Park was formerly part of the Stockgrove Park Estate but has been in private ownership for several years. The historic landscape features open grassland, mixed woodland and a variety of important wildlife habitats. Public access to Rushmere Park will be opened in stages. The partnership plans to create a wide range of zones where visitors can enjoy the natural peace and beauty of the park with its varied habitats and wildlife. The zones will also feature recreational activities and events to appeal to all ages.
