Brief description of site

The Ordnance Survey 1st edition 25 inch map shows established parkland and gardens around the house. The present house was built around 1800 for the Portsmouth merchant, Miles Rowe of Norton.
The ownership of the site is now divided, with the principal building in use as residential flats.The extant of the remaining garden is unclear.

Brief history of site

The house was built in 1800 and substantially enlarged in 1814. The grounds were laid out in the same period.
