Brief description of site
Talacre has the remains of extensive early-19th-century pleasure grounds and plantations set in a small landscape park. Terraces behind the house contain an unusual and quite well-preserved artificial rockwork grotto and a folly tower. There is an 18th-century banqueting house set in the kitchen garden wall.
Brief history of site
Originally the seat of the Mostyn family, the estate was sold to an order of Benedictine nuns in the early-20th century to pay death duties. It is now in private hands.
