Brief description of site

Kirby is a mid-19th century park ornamented with forest trees. The River Dhoo forms the boundary of the main area of gardens. There was a conservatory, which was demolished in the 20th century. A detailed plan of 1898 exists for a walled kitchen garden with glasshouses. This area is now the Kirby Park garden centre.
