Chinese-style garden

A garden with a layout and ornaments in a style of a traditional garden of China. Usually contains artificial crags contrasting and harmonising with soft, reflective water. Trees are valued for their symbolic associations and plants for their scents. First became fashionable in Britain in the 18th century.
