1) About this activity

Photograph of a child on a see-sawThese activities help you introduce KS1 children to park environments. They are cross-curricular, offering learning in art, science, history, geography and citizenship, many underpinning the development and application of literacy and numeracy skills. Each subject strand is supported by extensive imagery which can be downloaded for use in the classroom as paper copies or for use on an interactive whiteboard.

The approaches suggest preparatory work, activities to investigate a park and follow-up work.

Further suggestions, with supporting resources, and more  extended  work can be found in exploring historic parks.
